Area of practice
Cosmetic medicine.
A considered, consultation-based approach to non-surgical cosmetic medicine for adult patients. Every treatment is preceded by an assessment of clinical suitability, expected outcomes, costs, and risks.
Cosmetic medicine consultations begin with conversation. Before any treatment is recommended, Dr Waly will take time to understand what you would like to address, your relevant medical and medication history, and what is realistic to achieve.
All cosmetic procedures carry risks, and results vary between individuals. Where a procedure is clinically appropriate, you will be provided with clear written information about what is involved, what to expect during recovery, the possible risks and side effects, and the total cost. You will have an opportunity to consider this information before proceeding.
Where a cosmetic concern is better addressed by another practitioner, or where surgical or specialist input is required, Dr Waly will refer you to an appropriately qualified colleague.

Practice policy
How cosmetic procedures are provided.
The following standing policies apply to every cosmetic consultation and procedure offered. They reflect the practitioner’s professional obligations under the Medical Board of Australia’s Guidelines for registered medical practitioners who perform cosmetic medical and surgical procedures and the Therapeutic Goods Administration’s advertising rules.
- 01 Consultation first
- No cosmetic procedure is performed at the first visit. A separate consultation is required to assess clinical suitability, discuss risks and expected outcomes, and provide written information.
- 02 Cooling-off period
- A minimum cooling-off period of seven days applies between the consultation and any non-surgical cosmetic procedure, in line with current Medical Board of Australia guidelines.
- 03 Informed consent
- Written informed consent is required before any procedure. Consent is freely given, and may be withdrawn at any time without affecting your ongoing care.
- 04 Suitability and right to decline
- Treatment will not be offered where it is not in your clinical interest. If the practice declines to perform a procedure, the reasons will be explained, and reasonable alternatives discussed.
- 05 Risks and variation in outcomes
- All cosmetic procedures carry risks. Results vary between individuals, and no particular outcome can be guaranteed.
- 06 Costs and Medicare
- Cosmetic procedures performed for purely cosmetic indications are not eligible for a Medicare rebate, and are not bulk-billed. Fees are discussed and agreed in writing before any treatment.
- 07 Patients under 18
- Cosmetic injectables are generally not appropriate for patients under 18 years of age. Where any consideration of treatment for a young person arises, additional safeguards apply in line with current Medical Board of Australia guidelines — including a minimum seven-day cooling-off period, a separate evaluation by a registered psychologist, general practitioner, or psychiatrist independent of this practice, and full parental involvement throughout consent.
- 08 Aftercare and adverse events
- A review appointment is offered after every cosmetic procedure. Clear written instructions are provided about how to seek help if you experience an unexpected reaction. In a medical emergency call 000.
- 09 Advertising and confidentiality
- In line with AHPRA and TGA requirements, this practice does not name prescription medicines used in cosmetic treatments in any public advertising, does not publish patient testimonials, and does not use before-and-after imagery for cosmetic services. Your privacy is protected at all times.
- 10 No financial inducements
- Fees reflect clinical complexity and time. Bundled packages, time-limited offers, and other financial inducements to undergo cosmetic procedures are not used.
